Oooh boy, the first day of Wintertide Rising did not disappoint! We had CCNS athlete Dale Perzanowski rip out of the gate with what is basically the Wintertide Rising equivalent of poker’s unbeatable royal flush… vEveresting in Zwift, good for nearly 11.5 hours! Not even returning champ Dave “Rusty” Rustico headquartered in Florida could answer that (6.85 hours). Big kudos also to the trio of riders, Maurice Tyler, Adam Marong, and Cedric Baylor, who rode 120 miles together in 20-30 degree temps, from New Haven CT to Springfield MA and back. Nice work guys!
It also didn’t take long for controversy to hit, as one rider clocked in over 10 hours on Zwift at just 65w for an average. Before all you trainer-haters storm 111 West Ocean Blvd with pitchforks, don’t worry. We have not counted this ride. We have reached out to the participant to get additional details.
